Antique Show at Henry’s Field

The a whole year I have been looking forward to this show. It’s in Perkiomanville, pilule Pennsylvania, in an open field, called Henry’s Field. I went to this show last year and loved it. All primitive dealers!!

It was a really beautiful day, perfect for an outdoor antique show. I got up early so I would be there at the opening.

I know there are a lot of Tasha Tudor admirers out there so when I saw this 19th century boys “costume”, I wanted to photograph it to show you. It once belonged to Tasha Tudor and was part of her collection of early 19th century costumes.

It was wonderful and I wished I could have purchased it.

There were so many dealers and so much to look at. It was hard to know where to start, so I just started at the first dealer I saw. I covered every inch of this show. I was in heaven. These were high end dealers and there were many wonderful and unusual items to see. I didn’t take too many photos because I wanted to really savor everything.

I did find some wonderful early antiques for Carole’s Country Store. I still need to photograph them and send them to my webmaster. I am taking this week off to get some housework done, so they will probably be in the beginning of next week.

The weather here is very humid and windy. Rainy too. They say there’s a chance of a tornado in my area. It’s kind of strange weather, but then again, when I think about it, I can remember this kind of weather around this time of the year, usually around Halloween. I remember how hot it was in my costume, and sweating under my mask.

I loved this chest but when I went back to buy it, it was gone! Will I ever learn?

I love early bowls, especially when they have a make-do mend.

This is the last one. The show was just great. It had a good turnout too. Now I have to wait another year, but it’ll be worth it. Don’t forget to check out my store next week. There will be lots of new goodies for you.

Wow! It was like going to an antique show on a Thursday morning in IN — thanks!
We are heading for the Deerfield, MA show next week. It will be nice to spend some time in New England. We have a letter that Tasha Tudor sent us when our son had his Corgi. This was “several” years ago. She even illustrated the letter with her Corgis. We also have one of her large antique birdcages where she kept her beloved Finches. These are treasured items. Thanks for sharing your antique adventure with everyone! Bill and Judy
