My Visit with Louise

louisebarn.jpg

It’s been way to long since I have gone out with my girlfriends. I thought it was time to stop working and enjoy their company, online which is always such fun. Carole and I drove to Louise’s house together. She lives about an hour away, sick and the drive gave Carole and I a chance to catch up. When we got there, after the hugs and kisses, we couldn’t wait to see what new things Louise got for her house.

Louise and her husband, Larry, enjoy going to local auctions, where they have been very fortunate to find some lovely New England pieces for her home. This wonderful grandfather clock looks just beautiful in the corner of her living room. The gateleg table is also a New England piece. Louise’s son, Chris, is also a talented artist, and the painting on the wall was painted by him.
This beautiful coverlet was also bought at an auction not far from where Louise lives. The Kulps lived in her house in the mid 1800′s, when much was done to restore and change it. How wonderful that this coverlet found it’s way back home, and in such beautiful condition.

Upstairs is where Louise spends much of her time hooking her rugs. Her “wool room” is filled with shelves of beautiful colored wool, all folded neatly by color, just waiting to be chosen for the next hooked rug.

You can see these beautiful rugs for sale in my American Artisan Store.

After , looking at her antiques and rugs, we took a drive over to the John Potts historic house. I’ll tell you all about that next time. I should also mention that Louise is not only beautiful on the outside, but more importantly, she is beautiful on the inside. She’s a wonderful spirit, and I consider myself fortunate to know her and call her my friend.
Enjoy the weekend everyone and remember always try to have a-
Happy day
Carole

Hello Rondell and Marilyn. I am glad, and I am sure Louise will be too, that you enjoyed seeing Louise’s house. It’s just gorgeous and homey. Yes, Marilyn, the windows are beautiful and there are LOTS of them, making the house sunny and warm. Rondell, I like that sign too, I gave it to her before she moved to this house 2 years ago, and now it has the perfect spot!
