We’re Almost Done the House!

We are almost at the end of working on my mother’s house. Soon it will be time to put it up for sale. Monday, ampoule while standing at the kitchen sink, sovaldi looking out the window, I thought of how many times my mother stood in the same spot, looking out at her back yard. This was her home. She loved it so much. Now it is empty and everything has changed. Most everything she loved is gone, and soon, the house will be gone too. Bill and I have put so much of our time and effort into getting this house ready to sell. It’s been a labor of love for us, but now that the time is drawing near, and it’s bittersweet. We will miss it. We have become so attached to it. We put our heart and soul into it, and it’s been very rewarding. We did this for my mother, and I know my dad would be proud to see what we have accomplished. At the end of a long day we feel so good. Some times we make ourselves a cup of coffee and sit on the front porch, just like my parents did so many times. We laugh. We have become them, we say, LOL, and I get it now. I understand now what they loved so much about living here. I never really did before.
On the way home we stopped by the cemetery where my dad is buried, it’s right around the corner. He passed away 5 years ago. I miss him. It’s a lovely small country cememtery surrounded by an old stone wall. I took this photo, right before the farmer disappeared behind the trees. Today’s a new day and the sun is shining! Yay!
Happy day everyone!
