Out And About

I was out and about the other day, diagnosis looking for goodies for my country store.
If you have read my blog before, click you must know that I always bring my camera, most everywhere I go, and today was no exception. Chester County is so beautiful and is a photographer’s dream. I adore taking photos of the Amish, but am careful not to offend. Many don’t like being photographed while some don’t mind at all. I passed this barn along the way. I love the time worn hex signs, and was happy to capture them before they disappear, never to be seen again. I know I showed this photo before, but maybe you missed it.

Along the way, i passed this man riding his bike. I envy his, what appears to be, simple life style. Here I was in my big suv, just eating up the gas!

Down the road, and around the bend, I came across a little Amish schoolhouse. All the children were outside playing ball, and oh, i wanted so much to take a photo. I stopped my car on the side of the road, and reached for my camera. They all turned and looked at me! Oh, I felt so terrible. I put my camera down on the seat, and continued down the road. On the way back, I took these shots of the children’s bicycles, and two dear little ones, going inside their schoolhouse. Look at all the cardboard boxes on their bikes, used for carrying their books back and forth to school.

I stopped at a little shop on the way home and found some a few fun things for carolescountrystore, a mans nightshirt, a pair of ladies cotton bloomers, they just make you smile, and a sweet pair of summer pajamas, with a little trap door. Oh they are just too cute. I might have to keep them. I didn’t find much for all the driving I did that day. Antiques are getting harder and harder to find. I’m hoping next time I’ll do better. Now, don’t leave without leaving a comment, and please, stop by the store, you never know what you might find there. As always, have a happy day!

Happy day!

Thank you for the glimpses of Chester County… it’s always such a reminder of a simple life that really knocks me upside the head how complicated we tend to let ourselves get… I mean cardboard boxes on bicycles?? Thinking my 11 year old would look at me like I were from Mars… Oh the things I can learn… and then pass on… Thanks for the reminder :)

Hi Dawn, yes, I think it’s a good reminder for all of us. I envy their simple life. I always want to simplify my own life, but I find it difficult to get rid of all my stuff. It just doesn’t work that way, does it?
