I am so saddened by this news. Although we had never met, I felt we were kindred spirits but I know I’m not alone. Many others would probably same the same thing about Carole. She has a beautiful soul as I’m sure everyone in heaven is now finding out. I will miss her beautiful pictures and most of all her blog. She was my last connection to the Pa countryside that I roamed about 30 years ago. My heartfelt saddness and condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed my many.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Carole. We had been friends for several years through an online folk art group. I was honored to exchange works with her and proudly have one of her paintings in my home. One thing that stands out in my mind about Carole is the way she always spoke of her family with such love. She will certainly be missed. Please know that the family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sad to hear of Carole’s passing….she was such a delight, and had a genuine good heart! Like Lana, I too met Carole years ago through the primitive groups….I am fortunate to own some of her beautiful photo cards, and will treasure them fondly. She will be missed by many, and I will keep her family in my thoughts.
…There was just something about Carole that made a person feel as if they had a friend, a dear friend, without ever even meeting. She conveyed warmth, friendship and an indescribable feeling through words alone that made one feel better about their life, themselves – no matter the circumstance. Few people possess that gift and Carole was one of them.
…To say she will be missed is an understatement. Another person who left their condolences said something along the lines, “those waiting in heaven are now rejoicing upon her arrival while those of us here on earth mourn”. Such comforting words at a time of such great loss.
…Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers, and the thoughts and prayers of so many. My deepest sympathies go to you during this time.
I am so very sad to hear that lovely Carole is no longer with us. Bill and Missy you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I had many heartfelt email chats with Carole through the years about our special girls, and I was always uplifted by Carole’s encouraging words. I am so sorry for your loss.
This is a sad day. I too had never met Carole but through her blog we traveled the
countryside together, antiquing and exploring old houses. I have dolls, coverlets and samplers
from those trips that I will cherish forever. She brought joy to all, even from far away. I will
miss you, dear Carole. You were very special.
…My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to Bill and Missy
Though we never met, the sweet gentle nature of Carole came through in her writing. I read each and every post and always felt like I had just visited with a wonderful friend who had the same interests as I do. My sincere condolences to your family for this terrible loss. I spent today reading through the first two years of her blog. I will miss her writing so much.
Carole has been a quiet inspiration to me for 40 years. I have enjoyed every moment I have spent in her company, although infrequent, always a pleasure. Carole was a genuine, creative, loving and kind person. Always interesting and interested, the world lost a great one. RIP Carole, I will miss you. I wish I had told you how much I always admired you and Carole and how much the two of you have always inspired me! Robin
I’m so sad to hear of Carole’s passing. Just like the others, I had never met Carole personally but we spoke back and forth through emails and our blogs. She was a kind, sweet person who will be missed dearly. Keeping her family in my prayers.
I am so sadden to hear of Carole’ s passing. She and I have shared many wonderful treasures back and forth. She was such a wonderful lady, and had a true love and passion for American Country Antiques & Folk Art. Our ” niche ” and all who knew her have truly lost a WONDERFUL friend! May God Grant you Comfort And Peace is my prayer.
So very sad and sorry to hear of the passing of Carole. She is a very special part of my life. We had many conversations of family and shared many stories through emails. I was so honored to have once been one of her Artisan’s.
She is a very special lady and friend….you will be so missed…but I know you are in a very beautiful happy place and that you are with your son now, smiling down upon us. My deepest Condolences to her family and friends, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
We are very saddened by the passing of Carole. Like many others, we never meant Carole in person but had many exchanges with her via her wonderful web-site. We acquired many treasures from Carole. You could feel her sweet and kind disposition coming through her every message. We know that she will be missed by many including these two Hoosier folks.
May God bless you all,
Bill and Judy Castor
Thankyou, Carol for your lovely words about our country, and we Aussies from down under. You were a wonderful tutor during our retreat, not only patiently encouraging us to become better quilters, but also keeping us entertained with stories from your travels. Your above words also show us what a great tourism rep you are for us. We ll treasure the memories you gave us and hope that you ll visit us again one day.
