Settlement Tomorrow
Finally, sildenafil my parent’s house has new buyers. Tomorrow we go to settlement. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. This morning I was looking at all of the photos I took while we worked on so hard for over a year, medicine getting it ready to put on the market.
Remember this picture. We tore up two layers of carpet and removed three layers of wallpaper. Every inch of woodwork in this house had two coats of primer, and two coats of paint. Took off sliding closet doors and replace them with double doors that open out.
We got so much satisfaction when it was all done and now as I think back, it’s mind boggling. I don’t know how we ever accomplished so much, filling 3 large dumpsters to the brim! Carrying toilets, sinks, carpeting, wood, etc. up and down the stairs and heaving them into the dumpster. I even powerwashed the outside of the entire house, and painted doors and shutters and the stucco in the back of the house. It was sheer will. I could NEVER do it again. I guess you could say it’s one more adventure in our life together to remember. In this housing market we didn’t get what we were asking, but it was worth it, we did good. We saved my mother tons of money by doing the work ourselves. I think my parents would be very proud of what we accomplished. So tomorrow, new owners will take possession. I wish them well and hope they find many years of happiness in this wonderful little house in Honey Brook.
For me it’s bittersweet.

Yes Carole,
I remember when you both worked on the house…you did just great with it! I know how you feel…one day at dusk I took a walk ( this is before I remarried and lived near) and stood on the road and looked at it and cried, thank goodness it was near dark and no one saw me:)

Rondell, your post was so sad. I want you to know how much I appreciate that you shared that. The settlement went really good and I am glad it’s over.

I can only imagine the beautiful and meticulous job that you both did on this house with your creative talents. And knowing it is where you grew up, I’m sure it is very emotional to see it go. These new owners are very lucky to have gotten it. It really has a lot of charm. I am very happy for you, Becky

thanks, Becky for such a nice comment. Yes, knowing a young family is so excited is a nice thing. My mother too was happy to know that.
