Stenciling
Where have the days gone. It’s been much too long since I have posted. I wanted to say that I have not forgotten that I mentioned in my last post that I would be talking about stenciling. I will and soon, online but right now I am busy working on my pewter store and putting new items in my country store. I still have not taken my Christmas tree down, stuff so that’s a must for today. I did want to show a few photos of a room I stenciled a few years ago. I stenciled a chair rail, but I wish I stenciled all the way down. I mixed a few different colors to get the shades I wanted so I can’t remember now what I used. If I could, I would change it. I do like it anyway. The stencils are used are all 18th and 19th century ones. I’ll talk more about that later.
I think if I didn’t have a full mural painted in my dining room, I would do more stenciling in my house. I love how it looks.
I did a little bit in my hallway upstairs, but I want to add to it, if only I could find the time.
I’ll try to post in a couple of days and tell you more about stenciling, so please be sure to come back. As usual, I wish you a-
HAPPY DAY

Carol,
Is this stenciling in your home? I love it! I seen glimpses of the mural, it looks lovely.
I’ve done a bit of stenciling in my home, mostly boarders. Stenciling was popular before the time that my house was built, late 1800′s, but I use it anyway. Every time I see the same stencil, it’s unique. The hue of color, the way it was applied. Each one is one of a kind. I’ll look forward to your post.

Hi Debbie. Yes, that is my daughter’s room. I guess I didn’t make myself clear. Sorry about that. I’m glad you like it, thank you. All of the stencils I used are Moses Eaton stencils from the late 18th early 19th century. I’ll talk more about that later.

Ohhhh Carole it looks just devine~ I have so much on my to do list~ I want to do the mural in the stairwell down to the studio…..and take the carpet O*U*T* and paint the stairs….. and stencil our bedroom. Did I see a book of Moses Eaton stencils someplace????? hmmmmm…I cant remember~ I thought it would be fun to make my own, but then, I would rather just use the Eaton ones, in differing sequence & design, to make those my own, in keeping all within the same style………..I seriously need a clone, or mabey just need to say up a few hours later each night, and get up a few hours earlier each morning! I can allready feel the days becomming longer, and am really getting the antsy spring cleaning urge allready!
