Louise’s Hooked Rugs
My friend Louise Tietjen, sovaldi has a lot of artistic talent. She makes fabulous hooked rugs. Remember the hooked cat rug I showed you, purchase the one she was so kind to made for me? I still adore that rug. It gives me such pleasure every time I look at it. Now I am thrilled that she is making some of her hooked rugs for my artisan store. This cat rug is one that you will find in my American Artisan Store. I love this one too, sales but I think I am partial to cats. She also made a 10 inch candle mat, with nice primitive colors of old brown and bittersweet. You will also find a wonderful little horse rug that is perfect to put on the back of your wing chair. It’s really hard to capture the charm of her rugs in a photograph, I have tried but they are more wonderful in person. Look closely at this one. Can you see the colors in the background of this rug? Louise is passionate about the rugs she makes. She dyes alot of her own wool, and they are done on linen. All of her rugs come signed and dated. You can read Louise’s bio in the Artisan Store. WELCOME LOUISE! I am so happy to have you here. You are in great company, don’t you think? Be sure and visit Caroles Country Store too. There is always something new to see, and you never know what you might find there.
Happy day

…Her work is outstanding! Just beautiful! Btw, is that your home in the background of those hooked rug photos Carole? I was not only ‘oooin’ & ‘ahhin’ over the hooked art but the primitive decor as well!

Hi TJ. Louise’s rugs are even more beautiful in person. I took those photos at my girlfriend’s house, Carole, the artist, the day we had the luncheon.

Hi Robin. So glad to hear from you again. Yes, Louise makes beautiful rugs, rugs that look like they are from the 19th century. I love that about them.
