Good morning. It’s gorgeous out today, cialis and I’ll be leaving soon to work on mother’s house again. Wish I could stay home and do some work around my house, but first things first, as they say. It was so fun to get so many comments about my living room, that I thought I’d ‘work the program’. lol-Actually a couple of you emailed me and asked if I tried the table I mentioned. Remember I told you about the 18th century one that I had upstairs? I could never find the right spot for it. I brought it down and put it next to my Windsor chair. Ooops, I am getting ahead of myself. I just realized the first photo I have for you is of my corner cupboard. Louise asked me if I was going to open the doors of it. She likes seeing my redware collection. I do too. I usually close it for the Spring and Summer, to give a more sparse look. I have to admit though, once in a while I open it. I miss seeing my redware too. I also added a little tilt top table, to use as an end table. I used to have it tilted with a candlestick on it’s little shelf. I am not sure I will leave it where it is. We’ll see. For now, I’m happy with it.

Here is the table of was talking about. I love this table and it’s one of my earliest pieces. 19th century, with it’s original brass hardware. I am thrilled to have it downstairs, where I can enjoy it more. I bought this table about 30 years ago. I was invited by an elderly lady that had a small antique shop near where I live. It was a wonderful sale, at an old farmhouse. I remember I bought a hooked rug there too. At the time I didn’t know much about antiques. I only knew what I loved. Unfortunetly my husband hated that rug. He thought it looked creepy. I got rid of it. Now when I think about it, oh boy did I make a BIG mistake. The rug was pretty large and had lots of folky flowers. I am sure it was a very early one. I haven’t thought about that for a long time. Oh well. Don’t we all make those mistakes. Have you ever done anything like that? Time to go. I want to get things done before it’s time to leave. I’m feeling really energized this morning. I should get lots done today.
Happy day!

Hi Louise! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog today. You probably don’t remember that table in Missy’s room. I have always loved it and it is probably one of my earliest pieces. I am home today, and yes, I am completly enjoying today and being in, and working on, my own house!

    Hi Carole,

Your room looks lovely. I think you have a marvelous eye for pulling it all together. I have a question. I have alot of brass in my living and dining rooms…candle sticks, chandelier,etc.. Can you mix pewter in with brass? I wouldn’t put it right next to it but what about in the same room? Any ideas?

    Take good care,

I have a lovely friend who was eager to receive a similar rug from her sister-in-law who lives way out in the country. Meanwhile, my friend’s brother (the husband to the sister-in-law) thought the rug was hideous and so, he took it out and burned it! I don’t think sister and brother are all that close even yet.

Hmm, that sure does sound like one naaasty person. What’s the point of doing something like that, if not just to be mean.
