Changing My Room Around

Are you like me? If I get something new that I really love, sovaldi it makes you want to “play” and change things around. That’s what happened the other day. My girlfriend, buy cialis Carole, came over, and I was telling her that I just couldn’t find the right place to put the wonderful hooked rug that my friend Louise made for me. She suggested over the fireplace, but I didn’t think I would want to do that because I like the simplicity of just the pewter. We tried it, and as soon as I saw it there I knew it had found it’s place. What do you think Louise? It just made my room feel so cozy and inviting. That evening, around 8 o’clock, I did something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I took out my oriental rug and wing chair. The rug has been bothering me. It’s not an old one and the colors were not what I like anymore. It’s a perfectly good rug, so I kept it in there, but I was never really happy with my room and I knew it was because of the rug and the chair. The chair is beautiful but I don’t like the color and the fabric anymore. Right now it sits in my hallway, purposly, so I push myself to get it recovered. I am thinking of a tobacco and cream check, or maybe a flamestitch. I’m not really sure yet. I replaced that spot where it was with my oversized Windsor chair and I love the way my room looks now. It looks more early. I really love the bare floors. I might get an small rug for in front of the sofa, an old oriental, if I can find one with the right colors, but for now I am happy with the way it is.

I don’t like having that lamp behind the sofa, but I need to see, right? Oh, just got an idea. I forgot to do this!! I have a wondeful table upstairs, 18th century, with it’s original brass hardware too. I love this table, but I could never find a spot for it downstairs. Maybe it will work now. Gotta go and get it! I’ll let you know.
Happy day everyone.

    good morning dear Carole,

I absolutely love, love love your room. It’s just beautiful.
Louise’s beautiful gift, the lovely rug, is perfect over the mantle with your pewter. You & Carole did such a lovely job changing things around.
I would love to sit in this room with just the fire & candles lit and soak it all in.
    I love it.
You have put a fire under me to make some changes here, too.

I have always adored rearranging the furniture! Your new setting is charming and so very cozy and of course your collection is beautifully early. I am so in agreement with the rug decision. I love an old, warn, Oriental rug so much more than a new one. Meanwhile, the floor is beautiful, as is!

A job well done between you and Carole!

    Hi Carole,
The room looks great. The hooked rug is so nice and looks like you found the right place for it.
I vote for the tobacco and cream check on the chair. I love that fabric. It gives a simple look too.

Wow I love this room. One of my favorite stores is in St. Charles, Missouri. I wrote about it on my blog. Your room reminds me of that store. I almost get the shakes when I go into that store. I feel like I’m home. Your room looks fantastic!! I wish I lived closer so I could come visit, the problem is you probably wouldn’t get me to leave. Ha. I love it!!!

…Gosh Carole, I just love your home! You and I have almost the same sofa except that mine is a sagey green/gray color… And I had the same thing happen with me with an antique rocking horse. I moved it from room to room and it never seemed to find it’s “spot”, until a friend came over and I told her my dilemma and she said without hesitation, “put it on your sofa table behind your sofa” and “voila!” – it was perfect, and it’s been there ever since! lol… ;o)

    …You decorate beautifully!

    …Blessings… :o )

Hello Lisa. Thank you very much. It’s nice to know that you like my room. I sure would love to see that store. Only an antique lover would understand- getting the shakes. LOL-I wish you could come over too. I would love to meet you! Wish I could meet ALL my internet friends and customers!
    Take care.

The perfect rug found the perfect spot in the perfect room.
I can’t say enough about the rug! and the room…I love it all!
May I ask if the pattern is available?
    Warmest regards,

  12. Carole Says:

Hi Joan. How are you! It’s so nice to hear from you. The original rug was made in the 19th century in PA. There is not pattern. I will try to find the photo for you. it’s in one of my books. i should remember but i can’t remember which one. I am sure that Louise will remember. I’ll be talking to her soon and I will ask her.

Carole your home is so peaceful, like it has been there centuries, undisturbed by time, calm and quiet, all is well. What must it be like to live there? It is a reflection of you! Pam
