Today In Honey Brook

Bill and I went to Honey Brook again today, here we went yesterday too. We have to really hussle and get my mother’s house done, we’re hoping by Spring, to have a sign on it. Instead of going one day a week, we have decided to go two days a week. We still have so much to do! Today I painted the living room. It was a very bright blue, but after putting on two coats of primer yesterday, today it was ready to be painted a soft beige. It looks so nice and it makes the room look bigger too. There is a really pretty fireplace and mantle in there too. It has shelves and cupboards built on each side. It also has gorgeous black marble around the fireplace opening. I want to make the house look cheery and bright, and I think the colors I am choosing are helping to give the house a pretty and inviting look. Bill did lots of replacing of mouldings today. What a difference that makes! All of the woodwork was stained a maple color, but we decided to paint all the woodwork white, and it really makes a nice difference. You know how I love showing you new photos, so here are a few more for you to enjoy.

    Carole,

They are not just stairs; they are called hindleg stairs and in new construction are no longer allowed due to code. Or so some construction companies say…hmmm. They are a work of art and I love them.

    The toys are fabulous.

you know what, Christine, you are right about those hindleg stairs, I should have mentioned that, I’m glad you did. I think they are a work of art too, i guess that’s why i always like to photograph them.
    take care.

Aaaah the stairs. Can’t you envision the young woman lantern in hand glowing by the gentle light of the beeswax candle within, climbing the stairs…She makes her way to the tiny bedchamber where she has a clear view of the harbor below. As she looks out across the starlit bay she searches for….
